UPCOMING LAUNCH OF THE SCI-TECH INNOVATION BOARD (STAR MARKET) IN CHINA

MSCI is aware of the upcoming launch of the Sci-Tech Innovation Board (STAR
Market) on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. MSCI is currently assessing its
eligibility in the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes.

The STAR market introduces some new features such as registration-based IPO
system, increased reporting transparency, listing of dual class shares and
relaxed daily trading limits among others. While the regulations for the STAR
market have been publicly disclosed, MSCI believes that more time is needed to
monitor and assess the implementation, trading and liquidity on the market.

In the meantime, securities trading on the STAR market will not be added to the
MSCI Indexes until MSCI completes its assessment and communicates its decision.

The company full market capitalization of existing eligible securities will
include the security market capitalization of securities from the same issuer
trading on the STAR market.

MSCI will continue to monitor and provide further communication on the
eligibility of the STAR Market prior to the November 2019 Semi-Annual Index
Review.
