THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES
FINAL LIST OF SECURITIES TO BE DELETED FROM THE MSCI CHINA ALL SHARES INDEXES FOLLOWING U.S. EXECUTIVE ORDER 13959
As a follow up to MSCI's communication on December 15, 2020, MSCI will delete the below list of securities from the MSCI China All Shares Indexes and from relevant non-market capitalization weighted indexes and custom indexes as of the close of business of January 5, 2021, using the relevant closing market price of the securities on that day.
The list of securities that was communicated on December 15, 2020 included securities issued by the Chinese companies explicitly named in the U.S. Executive Order 13959 dated November 12, 2020 (the "Order"). This has been updated to reflect clarifications published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on December 28, 2020. The thirteen securities that will be deleted represent 1.13% of the MSCI China All Shares IMI (based on data as of December 29, 2020).

Any updates or modifications to the above referenced list of securities, made through a communication released by the OFAC will be considered and evaluated. MSCI would issue a separate announcement detailing the treatment related to these updates.
As a reminder, upon request by clients subscribing to impacted standard and custom indexes, MSCI will make available MSCI J-Series indexes that will retain the securities deleted from the MSCI Global Investable Markets Indexes (GIMI). More information can be found in MSCI's announcement sent on December 28, 2020. The MSCI GIMI methodology book has been updated to include the methodology for the MSCI J-Series indexes as well as the treatment of these investment sanctions in the MSCI GIMI, and is available at: https://www.msci.com/index-methodology. MSCI has also updated the list of impacted standard indexes, available on: https://www.msci.com/index-consultations, to reflect the latest changes.
