SIMULATED IMPACT OF MSCI ESG RATINGS MODEL UPDATE ON MSCI EQUITY INDEXES

MSCI has published updated simulations showing the expected impact on MSCI Equity indexes of the MSCI ESG Ratings model enhancements that have been rolled out on March 23, 2026. The simulations are based on the November 2025 Index Review and compare results using:

   -ESG Ratings data under the previous model (as of March 20, 2026)
   -ESG Ratings data under the updated model (as of March 23, 2026)

For each impacted standard equity index distributed through MSCI's ESG and Factor modules, the file includes simulated one-way index turnover, number of additions and deletions as well as index level ESG score. Security level simulated impact is also provided for certain indexes. The file is available on MSCI Client Support Site: http://support.msci.com/documents/esg_ratings_5-0_index_impact_Mar_2026

For custom indexes, similar simulated impact is available upon request.

ESG Ratings data based on the updated model will be used for the upcoming May 2026 Index Review of MSCI Equity indexes.
