THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

The purpose of this email is to explain the technical impact of the expiration
of the Brexit transition period (on December 31, 2020) on the ESMA administrator
register in relation to MSCI regulated indexes.  This is only a change to the
ESMA register, and there is no resultant impact on the use of MSCI indexes in
the EU, as explained below.

As a reminder, MSCI Limited is and will continue to be regulated by the UK FCA
as a UK benchmark administrator, and will continue to appear on the FCA's
register.

Due to the expiration of the Brexit transition period on December 31, 2020 (and
pursuant to ESMA's notice on October 1, 2020), MSCI, along other UK
administrators, will be removed from the ESMA administrator register as of
January 1, 2021 and will become a "third country" (i.e., non-EU) administrator.

MSCI becoming a "third country" administrator will not immediately impact the
use of MSCI's regulated indexes in the EU, which can continue to be used by EU
supervised entities through January 1, 2022. This "BMR transitional period" is
provided for in the EU benchmark regulation and is currently being extended even
further through January 1, 2024.

MSCI will use the BMR transitional period to complete its Brexit plans, which
will allow MSCI regulated indexes to continue being used in the EU after the
expiration of the BMR transitional period. MSCI's Brexit plans are expected to
be finalized well in advance of that deadline, and a corresponding notification
will be issued once completed.
