CONSULTATION ON POTENTIAL ENHANCEMENTS TO THE MSCI SCREENED INDEXES METHODOLOGY

MSCI announced today the launch of a consultation with the investment community on potential enhancements to the MSCI Screened Indexes methodology.

Specifically, MSCI proposes the following two enhancements:

1. Update the screening criteria as follows:
   a. Update the exclusion criteria related to nuclear weapons, civilian firearms and tobacco.
   b. Remove the biodiversity-related controversies screens.
   c. Add explicit screens on compliance with international standards for labor rights and human rights.
2. Enhance the GHG Intensity Reduction process.

A document describing the proposed changes including the simulated impact for the MSCI Screened Indexes and related analysis, is available on the MSCI Index Consultations webpage at www.msci.com/index-consultations.

MSCI invites feedback on the methodology proposals from market participants on or before December 2, 2025, and will announce the results of the consultation by December 5, 2025.
