THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

METAPLANET has announced a public offering of 385,000,000 shares, representing 64% of the security current Number of Shares, with an issue price of JPY 553 per share. Payment date of the public offering will be September 16, 2025.

Additionally, METAPLANET announced that 95% of the proceeds from the public offering will be allocated to the purchase of Bitcoin from September 2025 to October 2025.

In light of this, MSCI launches a consultation to gather market feedback on the appropriate treatment of companies whose primary business involves Bitcoin or other digital asset treasury activities within the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes, including cases where capital raising activities are primarily used to fund digital asset accumulation.

Given this, to avoid potential reverse turnover, MSCI will exceptionally not implement the public offering of METAPLANET at the time of the event.

MSCI invites feedback from market participants until October 3, 2025, and will announce the results by October 10, 2025.

As a reminder, as per section 4 of the MSCI Corporate Events Methodology, changes in NOS/FIF/DIF related to primary equity offerings, secondary offerings/block sales, or debt-to equity swaps originally not convertible at the time of issue representing at least 10% for Small Cap constituents (as well as securities assigned to Small Cap size segment but having failed other investability requirements to be added to the Index) of the security~s pre-event NOS used in MSCI Indexes, are implemented with two full business days advance notification.
