THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

INELIGIBILITY OF COUPANG INC IN THE MSCI INDEXES

Coupang Inc. has announced an initial public offering of Class A Shares on the New York Stock Exchange and is expected to list on March 11, 2021.

Coupang Inc. is incorporated in USA and will list in the USA only. Based on a set of criteria underlined in the Appendix III of the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes Methodology, Korea has been determined as Coupang Inc.'s Country of Classification (COC).

As per Appendix IV of the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes Methodology, foreign listings of companies classified in Korea are currently ineligible for inclusion to the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes. Consequently, MSCI will treat Coupang Inc. as ineligible and will not evaluate it for early inclusion into the MSCI Indexes at the time of the IPO.
