THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES
Update to the Preliminary List of Digital Asset Treasury Companies
Following additional analysis and review of available data sources, MSCI is issuing an update to the preliminary list of potentially impacted securities as part of its ongoing consultation on the treatment of Digital Asset Treasury Companies. The treatment previously announced for the November 2025 Index Review will apply to this updated list.
As announced on October 10, 2025, MSCI is conducting a consultation on a proposal to exclude companies whose primary business involves Bitcoin or other digital asset treasury activities from the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes, if digital asset holdings represent 50% or more of their total assets. Any resulting changes would be implemented as part of the February 2026 Index Review. MSCI previously published a preliminary list of securities within the MSCI All Cap Index universe that may be impacted under the proposed criteria.
As previously communicated, MSCI will not implement any increases to the Number of Shares (NOS), Foreign Inclusion Factor (FIF), or Domestic Inclusion Factor (DIF) for METAPLANET (MSCI Security Code: 31752.01) and CAPITAL B (MSCI Security Code: 71019.01). MSCI will also defer any potential size-segment migrations for these securities as part of the November 2025 Index Review. This treatment will likewise apply to other index constituents included in the updated preliminary list of potentially impacted securities.
Furthermore, non-index constituents appearing on the updated list will not be eligible for inclusion in the MSCI All Cap Index as part of the November 2025 Index Review.
The consultation will remain open until December 31, 2025, and the final conclusions will be announced by January 15, 2026.
