THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

ELIGIBILITY OF STAR MARKET SECURITIES IN THE MSCI CHINA INDEXES

On January 22, 2021, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) announced the inclusion of eligible A-shares listed on the SSE's Sci-Tech Innovation Board (STAR Market) into Stock Connect effective February 1, 2021.

Consequently, the STAR Market securities investable through Stock Connect will be eligible for inclusion in the MSCI China Index and other related indexes starting from the May 2021 Semi-Annual Index Review, provided they also meet all other relevant eligibility requirements.

As a reminder, STAR Market have been eligible for the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes since the November 2019 Semi-Annual Index Review. However, STAR Market securities have not been included in the MSCI China Indexes due to Stock Connect ineligibility.

This development will not impact the results of the February 2021 Quarterly Index Review.
