THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

TREATMENT OF RECENT UPDATES TO CARBON EMISSIONS DATA AT THE MAY 2023 INDEX REVIEW

MSCI announced today that carbon emissions data published by MSCI ESG Research as of May 17, 2023 will be used for the rebalancing of MSCI equity ESG indexes - including custom indexes - as part of the May 2023 Index Review. This follows recent publication by MSCI ESG Research of updated carbon emissions data for a number of issuers.

As a reminder, while index reviews for MSCI equity ESG indexes typically incorporate data published by MSCI ESG Research through the preceding month-end (e.g., a May index review will use data published through April month-end), pursuant to our index methodology, MSCI may use data published after the preceding month-end when appropriate.
