THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

MSCI Seeks Feedback from Market Participants on U.S. Presidential Executive
Order, dated November 12, Prohibiting Transactions by U.S. Persons in Certain
Chinese Companies

London - November 20, 2020 - MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI), a leading provider of
research-based indexes and analytics, seeks feedback from market participants to
an Executive Order signed on November 12, 2020 by President Trump that prohibits
U.S. persons from engaging in specified transactions in certain Chinese
companies (the "Order").

After the 60 day grace period ending on January 11, 2021, the Order will
prohibit US persons from engaging in specified transactions in Chinese companies
identified in the Order.  MSCI seeks feedback from market participants on the
impact of the Order on their investment processes, including any practical
implications on the use of MSCI indexes and whether any changes to existing
indexes or the introduction of new indexes may be necessary or helpful to
maintain the investability of relevant MSCI indexes and assist investors to
comply with the Order.

MSCI welcomes feedback until December 4, 2020 and we aim to communicate the
results of the consultation shortly thereafter.

A list of MSCI Indexes that currently include the Chinese companies listed in
the Order is available to market participants upon request.
