THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE MSCI GLOBAL STANDARD INDEXES

UPDATE TO THE METHODOLOGY BOOK FOR THE MSCI EXTENDED ESG FOCUS INDEXES

MSCI announced today that the methodology book for the MSCI Extended ESG Focus
Indexes has been enhanced to include additional screening criteria for Thermal
Coal and Oil Sands. The methodology is now available as a standalone methodology
book and will no longer be part of the MSCI ESG Focus Indexes Methodology book.

The MSCI ESG Focus Indexes Methodology Book has also been updated accordingly.

Updated methodology books are available on the MSCI's website at the following
